Mysterious tunes

A sound came from the music room, it was soft but hard at the same time, and sad and happy too. Ria sat in a chair playing her electric guitar and singing, she thought she had locked the door but it was still open. Lost in tune she kept singing, having fun and feeling better.

Jared walked through the deserted hallways, school had ended hours ago, but Jared was never one to leave immediately. He enjoyed school, unlike most of the student body. His black tie swayed back and forth as he walked, he loosened it more, he was able to breath better, and it felt more comfortable. His school was prestigious, but it never had a set dress code. The man sighed, and dug both hands into his pockets, his green eyes searched each classroom and corner for signs of life, not that he wanted to be around others, he always tended to be alone. Another sigh slowly escaped his lips as he looked down at the floor. His ashy hair fell into his eyes. He smiled slightly.

"Alone..." He whispered to himself as he stopped in the middle of the hall and leaned into it. The wall felt cold against his clothed back. He looked up at the ceiling, looking at the carvings. It never ceased to amaze Jared as to how old the school was. He was deep in thought about his weekend ahead. He knew he'd spend it alone again, but he wanted to go out and interact, even if it was just him at a movie. His Head perked up, hearing something loud, yet musical. He looked down the hall and squinted his eyes a bit. "The Music room." he whispered to himself.

Jared pushed himself off the wall and walked slowly down the hall. His hands remained in his pockets as he slowly reached the wide, wooden double doors to the music room. He peaked his head in in curiosity. What he saw was something he never expected, a girl sitting and playing guitar. He walked in quietly, not that she would have noticed his presence, he was always a quiet person and very sneaky when he wanted to be. He took a seat in the back of the room against the wall, the floor was made from marble and hard to sit on. But he ignored the uncomfortable feeling and sighed, his hands remained his in pockets. She had a lovely voice.

Shaking her head she set down her guitar, at the end of her song she had made a bunch of mistakes her ears were grreat enough to catch the smallest ones. Looking at her guitar she thought about how to improve more ten befor, practice got her no were because of her fright of letting others see her sing or perform.

It was those frights that made her always act tough and rough around others, she could only play alone. Standing up she turned around and saw a boy, she went totaly pale and backed up knocking her guitar over, "D-d-did you hear that?" she asked stutering a bit completly nervous and imbarissed.

Jared watched as she finished the song. He enjoyed the performance, even if it was unwanted. He liked that she was careful when putting her guitar down. Him being there frightened her. He listened to her as she stuttered. He could read people easily and he could tell she didn't like being in front of others when she played. Jared nodded at the girl and stood slowly. "My apologies, I did not mean to make you embarrassed or intrude where I was not wanted." he told her, looking down at his feet. He didn't want to make the girl feel uncomfortable. He slowly walked over to where she was standing and slowly bent over, picking the guitar up off the floor and extending it out for her. "You dropped this, something like this should not be on the floor." he whispered again. He sighed again and sat down in the chair next to the one she had been in, the chair was far better cushioned than the floor was. "I really am sorry Miss. I did not mean to startle you."

She took her guitar and put it back in its case, "Its alright, I gotta learn to double check doors anyway," she said quietly and looked at him. Extending her hand in greeting she said, "Names Ria, some call me Temp or Tempa, I dont care what Im called though," she smiled halfly, "How bout ya?" she asked.
Shifting from foot to foot her hair swayed, the blue streaking wiggling like water ripples. The black like the night sky, as she turned her head putting her guitar on her back, and her picks and strings in her blue pouch.

He watched her take the guitar and and looked at her hair, it was an interesting color combination. He extended his hand and took hers, shaking it gently. "Jared, My name is Jared." he whispered to her. His eyes watched their hands as they moved up and down. He watched her put the pics into her pockets. "May I walk you out?" he asked softly. It was the least he could do for being so rude and embarrassing the girl. He let go of her hand and walked towards the double doors of the classroom. He stood there, waiting for Ria to follow after him.

"Sure," She said and walked over to him puting a hand on his shoulder, "ery shy, and alone alot huh, well losen up," she said patting his back and walking through the doors with him. Her long hair stretched out behind her almost getting caught in the door, turning to him she wondered, 'Odd how I've never seen him around here,' she thought.

Jared jumps lightly and looked at the hand on his shoulder. He stared at it, perplexed. No one at the school had ever touched him unless they wanted to harm him in some way. "Loosen up, sure." he spoke softly, he was afraid to speak up any louder than what he usually spoke. He was afraid of everything in a way. He started walking out of the doors, Ria's hand slowly slipping off of his shoulder. It was nice to actually be touched, to feel human contact. He slipped his hands into his pocket and looked back at the girl, her hair was long. His lips twitched into a small smile as he looked at it. "So, how old are you?" he asked her, trying to strike a conversation.

She noticed him looking at her hair and smiled, "Ya can feel it once if ya like," She said and poked him softly. "And I'm 14, turning fifteen this twenty eigth," she said proudly. Opening the doors that exit the school she sheilded her eyes from the brightness outside, her eyes took a while to adjust then she stepped out looking back at Jared, "Wanna hang sometime?" she asked.

Jared blinked at what she said about touching her hair. A light blush radiated from his cheeks but he looked down. He didn't have to look at the halls or in front of himself to find where the doors to the school were. It took several minutes, but the eventually made it to the doors and he looked up at Ria. "Hang out? When?" he asked her softly. He'd never been asked to "Hang out" before. He'd never been asked to do anything with anyone before. But he shook his head slowly. "Sounds... fun?"

Ria walked back over to him and pulled one of his hands outta his pockets, she slid a small red, green, and yellow plaid card in his palm. "Go there and say yout a friend of Tempo, and dont worry its a fun place tons of music and fun." she said and turned away walking to her dorm.

Jared watched the younger girl walk over to him and grab his hand, the piece of paper felt wrinkled and rough in his hand. He watched her walk away before looking at the paper and smiling. He rarely smiled. He slowly walked down the steps and slipped his hand back into his pocket. It had been a good day after all, and he had made his first friend. He made his way to his dorm, wanting a nap before going to this place she instructed him to go to. It seemed like it would be fun. He looked up at the blue sky and, his smile still remained upon his face.

Ria got back to her dorm and fixed up her guitar, switching it for her neomn blue and purple one with glow-in-the-dark strings. With some time to spare she went and redid her streaks to match her guitar and new set of clothes. Then running out with her guitar on her back going to the destination.

It took several moment for Jared to reach his dorm, but once inside, he looked around and sighed at his dull and white surroundings. The tree next to his bed swayed gently with the breeze from an open window. He walked towards his bed and collapsed on it, the neatly made blankets crumpled up from under him. He closed hi eyes and curled up into a ball as he smiled. He let the sleep take over him, even if it was just a moment of peace. The crack of the tree falling over onto him jolted him awake. "The hell?" he asked himself. He moved the tree off of him and slid off the bed. He sighed, staring at the damage. Nothing broke, but the bed was covered in sap and leaves. He shook his head, letting the black hair fall into his face and smiled.

Jared walked away from the mess and into the bathroom, turning the water on and running it for a few brief moments before placing his hands under the water and splashed his face, "It was a nice nap." he said softly, he shut the water off and wiped his face off, and dropped the towel upon the floor. He let it lay there, walking out of the bathroom and out of his dorm. It was time to meet up with that girl, and hopefully she was sincere about wanting to hand out, only time would tell.

Ria was there up on a wall asleep, waiting for him, though it would probably hard for him to reconize her. Hair danging donw the side of the wall, and music blaring from the place the neon streaks in her hair swayed, and got iluminated in the different lights. A few other people waited around there for someone they didnt know, beat boxing and making there own tunes.
